Police chief launches 'solidarity' ribbon

A Chief Constable is asking his 4,000 officers to wear green ribbons, the traditional colour of Islam, to show solidarity with Muslims after the London bomb attacks. Steve Green, of Nottinghamshire police, also wants the public to adopt the ribbon to support Muslims "being held hostage by fear". The force has seen a 50 per cent rise in racial and religiously motivated crime since July 7 and Mr Green said non-Muslims had asked him how they could show their support. The force has ordered 20,000 ribbons at a cost of £2,000. The idea was welcomed by Dr Musharraf Hussain, imam of Nottingham's largest mosque and a senior member of the Muslim Council of Britain, as "a wonderful gesture".

This act will further arouse anxieties, fear and apprehension among Christian immigrants from Muslim countries, Hindus and other minority communities in the UK, who know the reality of Islam. In the long term, this does not bode well for the continuation of democracy in the UK.

Such idiotic acts further embolden the Islamists, who see them as a sign of weakness of the Infidels, as well as justification, both moral and strategic for their continuing Jihad.

Crazy! Hey, does anyone know of other good European bloggers, conservative of course? I think the bloggers are much better at reporting the news than TV, and I'm curious about what's going on "over there." Thanks a bunch:)

Wow - this is crazy. I wonder if this will be forced on all officers even if they personally disagree with the ribbon. Keep us updated! Love the blog.

This kind of reminds me of the old Disney movie Dumbo when the little elephant thought he had to hold the "magic" feather in order to fly.Self delusion.

"A wonderful gesture" to express English dhimmitude.

Green, eh? Why don't they also use it for "showing solidarity" with the IRA? I mean, the IRA did take a good step and gave up the policy of violence.
