Pakistan: 16 Muslims reportedly rape Christian girl

16 Muslims reportedly rape Christian girl

A 12-year-old Christian girl was reportedly abducted and gang raped by 16 Muslim men in Pakistan. The alleged offence occurred at Rawlpindi, bordering Pakistans capital city of Islamabad. According to a news release from the All Pakistan Minorities Alliance (APMA), Sara Tabasum escaped two weeks later while she was being transported to a new location. APMA reported Tabasum managed to jump out of the vehicle and escape while it was on a busy road. Although the youngster was pursued, she still managed to reach her family.

On Sept. 5, APMA stated, Tabasum went out late one night to buy some loaves of bread. She was reportedly abducted by her former neighbors and two other men. According to APMA, "They put a piece of cloth soaked in some intoxicant on her mouth, after which she fainted." When Tabasum regained consciousness she found herself in Bibis house, where three men reportedly including Babar Bibi, raped her. Tabasum was reportedly told that by Perveen Bibi that she could be "saved" if she embraced Islam and married one of Perveens Muslim brothers. According to APMA, "On refusing, Sara was beaten badly during captivity and shifted to another house ... where five persons raped her. She was repeatedly asked by Perveen and other men to embrace Islam and recite (the) Islamic creed to save herself from the misery. Perveens husband Babar even told her that they (had) killed her brother Suleman, and her mother (had) also embraced Islam. (With that in mind), it would be better for her to become (a) Muslim now, otherwise she could be killed or made (a) ‘prostitute." Tabasum refused to renounce her faith and embrace Islam, APMA reported. She was subsequently taken to another house, where she was reportedly assaulted by seven people.

APMA strongly condemned the abduction, saying in a news release, "It is a horrific, brutal and shameful act, which should be condemned at all levels as it is the insult of humanity itself. The incidents of rape, kidnaping, torture, and gang rape are increasing at an alarming rate, and the victimized women are begging for justice and protection to save their dignity and honor. The official failure to condemn or punish rape is encouraging the perpetrators to continue to commit such heinous crimes."

This is by no means the only such case:

Pakistan: Honour killings and abduction of Christian girls

The trend of Muslim boys abducting Christian girls, and raping them after forcibly converting them and marrying them, has not died down. Nothing has changed since the Bishop of Lahore invited the then prime minister Nawaz Sharif to his congregation in 1998 and told him gory details of how Christian girls were being preyed upon by Muslim thugs.

The kidnapping, raping and focred conversion of non-Muslim girls in not unique to Pakistan:

Who is responsible for abducting Coptic girls?

Abducting and converting Coptic girls to Islam is not only a result of the paranoid and racist incitation against the Copts, but it is an organized and pre-planned process by associations and organizations inside Egypt with domestic and Arab funding, as the main role in seducing and luring Coptic girls is carried through cunning, deceit, and enticement or through force if required. In a lecture delivered by the departed Archbishop Athanasious, he exposed some of the tactics of these organizations in abducting the Coptic girls by containment through friendship that leads at the end to sexual seduction or abduction or involuntary detention in many homes scattered allover Egypt and forcing them to convert to Islam.

Are we seeing the first signs of this trend even in Europe and Scandinavia?

Rape: Nothing to do with Islam?

Western women are not so much regarded by most Muslims as individuals, but as "their women," the women who "belong" to hostile Infidels. They are booty, to be taken, just as the land of the Infidels someday will drop, it is believed, into Muslim hands. Western women are cheap and offensive. We Muslims are here, here to stay, and we have a right to take advantage of this situation. It is our view of the matter that should prevail. Western goods, like the land on which we now live, belong to Allah and to the best of men -- his Believers. Western women, too, essentially belong to us -- our future booty.

crimson_willow... I dunno if you are a muslim or an atheist. Couldn't care less.
But I want you to know thatsimply love learning about all the religions though I myself am an atheist. So hopefully I shall be able to view this thread with impartiality
Yes.. there some poisitive stuff in the koran... but what about the hadith?? What about the Sharia laws?? A rule like a non Muslim man having a sexual relationship with a Muslim woman (even with her consent) is punishable with death.

I think there are some inherent problems with some of the teachings of Islam because they have been mostly formulated during times when the early muslims were at war with the "infidels" in Arabia and now a thousand years later the Muslims still hang on to these outdated rules though they are grossly out of context today. This is the source of intolerance that we see in some muslims today.
In India, the muslims have a separate civil law code. Muslim men in India can have upto four wives at a time. If Hindus and Chrstians do that they will be promptly thrown into jail. By contrast in Muslim nations, a non Muslim cannot even have some food publicly during the month of Ramadan...
There is (more)intolerance in Islam compared to other religions and this is the reason for the current Islamophobia.
The Muslims need to understand that they need to respect other religions. People of other religions are not Dhimmis, they are simply people who have go about their own lives. Islam, (just like Christianity in the middle ages) needs to reform too (but that is highly unlikely from a religion in which any form of criticism of the same is punishable with death again)

Crimson...Yes... you are right about the hadith and the Sharia. Then I have to say that not Islam but Muslims have to change because most of the Muslims feel that the Hadith and the Sharia too have to be followed by the word as they follow the Quran.
I again emphasise that Islam is not evil, Muslims are not evil but Muslims need to realize that things change, they have to accept changes (including the individual rights of Muslims to change their religion, again this is punishable with death). The Koran and Hadith may have been the word of "God" but they are not infallible (atleast not in the current cotext of the world). I was born to Hindu parents... there are so many things in Hinduism that need to change too...
Oh My "God" ;P !!!!!!! I now sound like a believer (at least a reformer) now. Change of subject...
As for your Muslim friend... Good for her... But trust me.. she is one of the very few Muslim girls in the world who can do this.
By the way it would be interesting to know if your friend's man practises his religion now and also would your friend's parents allow the same religious freedom for their grandchildren as well.

PS: Interestingly the Muslims you have encountered seem to be quite moderate. But that is not the whole story girl...
