Last weeks of Fjordman

I have announced several times my departure from the blogosphere, but never any specific date. I have already continued almost a month longer than I first had in mind. At the very latest, the last post here will be December 10th, 20 days from now. But it could be sooner. I will continue with a handful of online workshops, and post the conclusions I have reached in collaboration with my readers as essays here before I leave. Others will be most welcome to continue where I have left off, but right now, I have neither the time nor the possibility to write.

I don't think that "leaving" the blogosphere would be the right decision. "Pausing" and "watching" and coming back at the right moment would be better. I Never say "Adios"; I prefer saying "Hasta la Vista". :)

I have been a frequent visitor of your exceptional blog ever since I followed a link leading to your piece about the collapse of Swedish democracy. I, like so many others, are in your debt. You have done excellent reporting and exposed those things which we are not supposed to see, but which we have always known deep inside. In this day and age, individuals like ourselves can have an impact in a way which has not been possible before.

I would like to thank you for your efforts and dedication, for your excellent reporting. It is a true loss that you should stop blogging, but I understand that you have a life beyond blogging, and your promises of continuing your 'activism' also eases this loss. You've been one of the greatest influences, which got me blogging as well. Nothing compared to your reporting, but I want to chip in what I can. :)

Thank you once more.

You will be missed! But then again, certain people will be glad to see you go. I would prefer that you not give them that satisfaction, but do what you must do.

Your site has been a weekly joy. There is so much going on and your insight into the Nordic countries and their problems has been very helpful. We will all miss you.

If you need space, money or hosting services to maintain the site, please let us know. We are not rich, but we will help.

Once again, thank you for you good and valent work.

Fjordman, thanks for fighting the good fight, and may your efforts in the Real World bring you every success! Any recommendations for where we can find other Euro expose's?? From an interested Kiwi.

Hi Fjordman, I found your site while looking for info on Islam in Europe and have since made it a regular stop. You have insight into the situation in Scandinavia that others don't. I don't always agree with what you write, but it has gotten me to think and finally to start my own blog. It will be much quieter out there once you stop logging..

Fjordmam - Thank you for your astute analysis. Taking the long view has led you to observe the old maxim: "discretion is the better part of valor." One digs an alternative foxhole in order to be able to fight on in another capacity. Good luck and God bless.
