Denmark: Terrorism turns nation against Muslims

Terrorism turns nation against Muslims

More than one in four Danes has become more suspicious of Muslims in Denmark after reports of seven young Muslims being arrested on terror suspicion, daily newspaper Urban reported on Monday. Accoring to an opinion poll conducted by Instant-Answer for the newspaper, 27 percent of 1500 respondents said the arrest of the seven suspects had changed their opinion of Muslims in Denmark for the worse. 'It's grotesque to lump all Muslims together and conclude that all Muslims are either terrorists or sympathise with them,' said Niels-Erik Hansen, leader of the Documentation and Consultation Centre on Racial Discrimination. 'It's a dangerous development and a sign that there is a growing breeding ground for racism in the country.

It's a lot of things, but racism isn't one of them. Fear of terrorism, however overinflated or over-hyped, logically leads to suspicion of Muslims. It doesn't mean Muslims will be treated any differently, but I'd imagine their personal space while walking in public is growing by meters a day.

"Racism" has become such a generic insult as to be meaningless. If I see a white convert wearing the beanie and scraggly beard, be assured my head will be on the same swivel.

Isn't it great how he turned that around on the infidels. And, once again, islam is not a race, it's a cult.
