I was walking along Raval (Barcelona) when all of a sudden I
understood that Europe died with Auschwitz.
We assassinated 6 million Jews in order to end up bringing in 20
million Muslims!
We burnt in Auschwitz the culture, intelligence and power to create.
We burnt the people of the world, the one who is proclaimed the
chosen people of God.
Because it is the people who gave to humanity the symbolic figures
who were capable of changing history (Christ, Marx, Einstein,
Freud...) and who is the origin of progress and wellbeing.
We must admit that Europe, by relaxing its borders and giving in
under the pretext of tolerance to the values of a fallacious
cultural relativism, opened it's doors to 20 million Muslims, often
illiterates and fanatics that we could meet, at best, in places
such as Raval, the poorest of the nations and of the ghettos, and
who are preparing the worst, such as the 9/11 and the Madrid
bombing and who are lodged in apartment blocs provided by the social
welfare.
We also have exchanged culture with fanaticism, the capacity to
create with the will to destroy, the wisdom with the superstition.
We have exchanged the transcendental instinct of the Jews, who even
under the worst possible conditions have always looked for a better
peaceful world, for the suicide bomber. We have exchanged the pride
of life for the fanatic obsession of death. Our death and that of our
children.
What a grave mistake that we made!!!

Sorry, lawson. What this spaniard wrote is true. Antisemitism is still the rage, although it is more fashionably packaged as anti Zionism or anti Israelism...the message is still the same. Europe made her own death bed and she will be forced to lie in it and die in it. Naziism isn't about Nazis...it is about the world view they held, and it is still with Europe. If the EU is scuppered due to mutual recriminations over Turkey, it will be for the wrong reasons. It will lead to a fallout within Europe as well as across the Atlantic. That profits islam, and is not something anyone of us would like to see.
I agree with this. It will be for the wrong reasons and possibly place western man on his heels, yet again, in relation to his "intolerance" towards someone or something alien to what he knows and is comfortable with. While I agree with it, I don't care. Western man needs to shed the guilt that has been heaped upon him for nearly a century now. We've done more than our fair share to be "tolerant", "just", "humane", "non-racist", "egalitarian", "liberal", "multicultural" and "enlightened". What exactly have these wonderful Liberal traits gotten us? Shit on, used, abused, and murdered that's what. I couldn't care any less how it is perceived by Islam on Turkey's denial into the "Christian club". Will it matter what the reason will be? No. So, let's start by growing some proverbial balls and telling them just where they can stuff their Turkey, eh?
No country or faith is any match for western man's resolve when we put our minds to something. No need to fear what anyone thinks about how we want our countries to be and how we want to forge ahead into the future. Our only achilles heel will be our "softness" and "humanitarianism". Time to shed that too. I'm not saying to go back to the Dark Ages as you have mentioned in the past, however no one has a right to dictate to us how we should run OUR destiny, especially when these "suggestions" are only meant to hasten our demise.
I have to thank Islam for one thing though. I have to thank them for bringing to the fore the untenable ideology that is liberalism. Advanced liberalism is corrupt and its end always ends with the death of the ideologues, many of the sheep, and society that embrace it. Always. Advanced liberalism does not have internal brakes that say..."ok, this is good and now we can stop". It will continually ask and push and force the society that allows it into more repulsive positions until the death of that society is the only thing that will bring an end to liberalism itself. I anticipate with glee for the day that will lead to the death of the most evil ideology ever to grace the minds of man.

Another absolutely excellent and insightful post and I am NOT being the least bit facetious. You have described perfectly the evolution of liberalism through the (truncated) ages. That is exactly what I was referring to when I stated it has no "internal brakes". It grows into an uncontrollable monster that devours all and then itself. We are witnessing it first hand. I hope you had an epiphany when you wrote it. If not, then at least enjoy the beer my friend. Have one for me as well.
As the saying goes, I have many Moslem friends & they've consistently been warm, curious, engaging, well-informed, etc etc. And yet I have to concede that 98% of terrorists come from the Islamic tradition. Yet I still doubt there's anything intrinsic in Islam that leads inevitably to homicide bombing & terror. Islamism is an ideology of violence that 'uses' Islam. I wouldn't think that if I didn't have Moslem friends.
I have Jewish frieds too, of course, & the experience has been almost identical. The main difference is Judaism has not been 'used' as cover for an ideology of hate.
I agree with this Spanish blogger. The danger now is that ordinary Moslems will begin to see Islamism as an extreme yet valid variant in the spectrum of Moslem political positions. That would be a tragedy.
The one thing in this world I'd cheerfully kill for is the defense of Jews. Nothing fills me with loathing as much as the media distortions & lies about Israel. It makes my blood boil. This is the one core aspect of Europe that tells me the EU is finished, utterly finished.
Europe has almost completely failed to come to terms with its legacy of anti-Semitism. Imagine if the US had failed to resolve its past problems over race. Yet that is precisely the condition that Europe is in.
Leftism is at the root of that failure.
How could a Europe terrified of individualism, democratic accountability, capitalist economic liberalism, & reform ever be expected to step out of its denial?
Jew-hatred among post-Christian European atheists is the canary in the coalmine, signalling Europe's demise, a process that will involve much bloodshed, over a period of decades.
