Feedback to Fjordman

I'm off to enjoy a couple of weeks of holiday, so posting will be very light during the first half of July. Since I've been posting for some months now, perhaps I should use the opportunity to get some feedback from my readers. The blog has so far stabilized on a bit less than 1000 unique hits per day, which isn't too bad for a blog from a small country like Norway. I have hundreds of daily readers, and thousands who return every now and then. I must be doing something right. What do you like about the blog, and why do you return? What do you think should be changed or improved upon? I think I will stick to the posting profile I have now. This is a Scandinavian blog, and a blog about Islam. The majority of my posts will be about Scandinavia or Islam, or both. But I will add some other posts about global politics, the EU, science and technology and a few just plain weird or funny stories from anywhere. Is that a good mix?

Fjordman, wishing all my readers a great summer.

I visit your blog every day. I write about the same stuff on my blog. Unfortunately my blog is in Dutch, but I'm considering to write in English too.

I like your topics and I think that not only in your country there are problems with Islam. For example one of our best fighters for freedom of speech, Theo van Gogh, was killed by a muslim. And two MP's fear for their lives.

I would like it very much that someday European bloggers will bundle their efforts on one international blog.

Anyways, keep up the good work!!

I read your blog everyday. I'm from New York. I read it to learn if Europe is going to survive in its present form (and by extension the US). Hopefully, we will see an increase in the birth rate, a halt to Muslim immigration, and the deportation of those who wish our civilization ill. We are all in this together. Either we will get philosophy and a backbone or we will perish. Enjoy your vacation.

I read your blog nearly daily. I find your information and "common man's perception" on Europe, Scandinavia, and Islam very informative and in line with what I hear on my own and talking with others of the region. I think the internet is a powerful tool, one that has bypassed the indoctrination of the mainstream media, and you have utilized it to your full or nearly full potential to help spread the news to others who may have been oblivious to the current plight of European man. Thank you for you time and effort. If I'm ever in Norway again, maybe we can have a beer or three. ;)

Have a nice holiday.

Just discovered your blog yesterday via a link to the long posting about the scary decline of Sweden into the first major Islamo-European country. As I read it, I kept envisioning Sweden as The Fool in the Tarot card deck, at the edge of the cliff with one foot firmly planted in midair. Well documented, well written and powerful stuff. I'll return to your blog.

Have a great holiday.

Basicly you have alot of information that you dont really see elswhere, as im into the anthropological aspects of this issue.... My other blogs are Lonewacko, and Saveourstate.

I should be doing my own blog,1Badmonkey, but I tend to vicariously use others to post.

My first article will be on Liberalsm and low levels of testosterone. It is an interesting theory, and food for thought if you like science info relating to human behavior....

My first post will be on

From New Zealand - I go to your blog daily. I think I read you because Scandinavian countries are like NZ - climate and (formerly) population wise.

Badmonkey - I went to the 3 names listed (savourstate, 1badmonkey and the other) but got nothing. Can you give a link? I am also interested in human behaviour/genetics/hereditary characteristics etc.

I am also a regular reader. It is very helpful to hear about Scandanavia, some of the political decisions made there serve as a "test case" for how things might work out in the US. I have to admit many times it has moved me decisively to the conservative side of the street!

More information about how the EU impacts the average citizen would be useful, since we have a group in the US who are pushing a "North American" union similar to the EU.
My impression is that there is a distinct lack of freedom under such an organization. Information about about family/social health trends in Northern Europe is also very welcome.

Enjoy your vacation, and thanks for taking the time to put together a very interesting blog.

Felix from New York checking in, Fjordman. Happy 4th of July. Appreciate your research and output.

A suggestion. Documenting the islamofscist problem is fine, and there is so much documentation available. How about we all focus more on specific policies to fight the menace of radical islam.

I return almost daily to your blog, and you certainly deserve the attention you get.

- Short, concise intelligent writing from an anti-euroleftist perspective.

- There's regrettably not many others i Europe, Scandinavia (especially Sweden) who have clearly identified Islam as a threat to individual human rights, western values and our future.

- I'm always looking for news for FOMI, a swedish forum against islamization.

Your way of attacking Islam together with scandinavian leftism, the ruling elite of media and politicians is probably correct.

As long as socialist anti-western, anti-individualist dogma dominates European thinking there will be no defense against the ambitions of the islamists.

If you have over a thousand hits a day, there is no reason whatsoever for you to worry about your blogging style! :-)

Have a good vacation.

Hi Fjordman,

found your site a couple of months ago and visit it regularly. I like it because it discusses issues that I feel strongly about from a Scandinavian perspective. And Scandinavia is perceived by outsiders as the epitome of socialism, so it´s interesting to read about what´s going on up there. What should you change? My suggestion: write/link about things that strike a chord with you, doesn´t have to be sociopolitical. Post whatever you think, not what you think other people consider important.

Slightly OT: I was very amused to read about some Swedish politician blaming the deterioration of Malmo on Denmark - implictly admitting that those undesirables who crossed the bridge to live off the Swedes were a problem. What was he complaining about? According to dogma the more the better. Or maybe not? But for f´s sake don´t blame the Danes. As the saying goes, you can´t solve a problem before you admit a problem exists.

Have a nice holiday. You really deserve a rest from the "labour of love" that you have been doing for the last few months.

Just came back from France, where we had an excellent holiday.

More on this, if you are interested, when you get back.

Great blog - I read it regularly. You have done a grea job exposing the problems in Scandinavia. Some focus on strategies / tactics to solve it would be good - your own and collecting others ideas etc.

Here is one tactic - it is used by CAIR - it can also be used against them
http://www.cair-net.org/libraryproject/materials.asp

They have packages of books which can be sent to libraries. You could collect lists of "appropriate books on Islam" (one list for each Scandinavian language) and ask people to donate them to all the libraries in Scandinavia and keep a list of which book went to which library - so that people can figure out which ones are remaining to be donated.

I read your blog every now and then to get news I know I won't be getting anywhere else. Your blog has a stringet but very solid content that one can enjoy and I also share your political views. Your reporting about my country, Sweden is sometimes brilliant and I wish we had a swedish blogger in such high class. I also feel that you put very much effort in making your blog different which I enjoy. I check for news and views here that I pass on to my blog. I some ways you've been an excellent role model and teacher for a young blogger like me. You are, beyond any doubt the best blogger in Scandinavia.. (and hopefully i'll replace you someday.. ;)

btw, put a link to your RSS on your page, some people might miss it otherwise.

I posted this recently on a different thread in regard to the problem of Denmark (and Scandinavia in general) importing too many Muslim immigrants. My proposed solution was simply to increase the proportion of immigrants from non-Muslim countries into Scandinavia. It's an important issue so I'll repost it here again:

Why doesn't Denmark (as well as Sweden and Norway) just diversify their immigrant stream for goodness sake and take in more immigrants from non-Muslim countries? I know that Scandinavia needs immigrants to support their work force, but rather than inviting in millions of Middle Eastern Arabs and Muslims-- who are notoriously difficult to assimilate and prone to crime and abuse of the welfare state-- why not look instead to countries like Russia, India, Brazil, Vietnam and the Philippines?

The Scandinavian countries will get higher quality immigrants that way who fit much more easily into society. Germany for example is already doing this, sharply reducing the number of visas given e.g. to Turks and markedly increasing the number of visas given to highly skilled Indians from Kerala and Bangalore, as well as boosting the visas given to Russians, Latvians, Ukrainians, Georgians and Armenians. Even France is moving in this direction, closing down the flow of immigrants from Algeria and boosting up the inflows from India and Russia. (As many French migrate to places like e.g. Quebec, this helps to maintain their population in France itself, w/o overburdening it with tough-to-assimilate Muslim migrants.)

Too many dolts in the media miss the point when they portray Europe's immigration situation as choosing between economic collapse or Muslim takeover. Norway, Sweden and Denmark can all have their cake and eat it too, i.e. both accept high numbers of immigrants to fuel their economy, while preventing a Muslim demographic takeover. The answer is simply to accept immigrants from non-Muslim countries like Eastern Europeans and Russians, newcomers from India, and migrants from South America, Vietnam, China, South Korea, and the Philippines. It's an obvious solution, and it takes only an iota of common sense to implement it.

BTW Fjordman, I (an American) am trying to improve my limited Danish, and you may be surprised to learn that there are quite a few other Americans who are quite interested in the Danish language (and other Scandinavian languages for that matter). A large number of us in the USA are of Scandinavian heritage, and in part as a way of getting in touch with our roots, we like to re-learn the languages of the "old country." (This is one reason why so many Americans take up the study of German and Italian, for example, even if their ancestors emigrated centuries ago.)

So, don't hesitate to post occasionally in your native Danish, or to invite posts in Swedish, Norwegian and German for example. It would be great to have a Danish-language post juxtaposed with an English translation right below to help in learning the Danish language.

This is one of the things we traveling Americans really do love about Europe-- the diversity of languages and European cultures and histories always fascinates and intrigues us, and for those of us with roots in Scandinavia, we like to revisit that distinctive, special culture whenever we can.

Ralph,

Seriously, why should Europe have to accept any immigrants? Why don't they just do what the French have done and create viable incentives to increase the birth rate?

A nation that depends on a continuous flow of immigrants is a dying nation. Better to attack the problem at the root--and keep Europe, you know, European!

Been reading for some time now; even linked to you from my blog. I first read your views on littlegreenfootballs.com. You're doing a grand job.

I'm a Scottish-born/Canadian writer currently living in New Zealand. I'm a Christian, a conservative and a hopeless expositor of polemical hyperbole. But that doesn't stop me from appreciating your calm, measured approach. I think yours is a valuable all-too-rarely heard voice of reason and, yes, alarm. You are a harbinger of dark days to come. I pray the powers that be don't get you in their conspurcating clutches.

Fjordman--

Have a well-earned holiday. We love you at Gates of Vienna, as you know. The Baron did a great deal of posting on your material. In fact, in many ways, you're a primary source for Americans because we're not getting this information anywhere else.

Today I'm doing a post which will essentially be a riff on your remark that sharia law and western law are like fire and water: they're never going to mix.

Yeah...with a thousand hits a day, don't change the formula.

That does bring up a good point. Why is there NO INFORMATION ON THIS SUBJECT???

What I would like to see is a WEb-based news cast(with advertisements if possible) with a beautiful blond reading the news that you in Nordicland are ot allowed to hear. If you did it like topless or something, it would GENERATE A LOT OF ATTENTION. Of course, you could probably only produce it in AMERICA, because if im not mistaken, talking publicly in many unfree western european countries is not allowed.

I also remember reading where Norway was going to track internet useage, who you associate with etc...
Once they find out about BAdMonkey, they may try to shut you down...

Scandinavian Internet Beauty reads BANNED news. I think it could have a very large appeal...
