Could Iran Checkmate America?

"America will face external imposed rationing of oil imports combined with higher prices. All of our friends will get preferred treatment regarding allotment and price. We will be working with other oil exporting countries to shift their exports away from America and to the huge and growing markets of Asia, including China and India. We will be influencing Canada, Mexico and Venezuela to shift their oil exports away from America and towards Asia. "It will be interesting to see how many of your so-called friends and allies will choose to stick by your side if it requires them to sacrifice on your behalf. We will continue to isolate you so you will be standing alone and friendless. "You will stave off internal destruction only as long as you comply with our ultimatum. In the long run, your power will be greatly diminished and Iran will emerge as the dominant power in the Middle East. In the longer run, America will continue to weaken internally while Islamic influence increases inside your own society. "We of the Islamic revolution represent the wave of the future and you Americans are a declining power. The best you can hope for is to avoid attack while your society gradually becomes Islamic."

Interesting quotes, but it would be good to know their source. Nevertheless, a nation with hearty friends cannot be isolated. It is better to have a few genuine friends than to have dozens of the fair weather kind.

Iran Oil is not the only game in town, so the Iranians should think carefully before embarking on economic policies that will do more harm to Iran than to its ideological adversaries. I keep waiting for the EU to make some progress with Iran’s desire to develop a nuclear capability, but in societies where there are no consequences, no political resolve, and where self-interests guide foreign and domestic policies, I have increasingly less hope for a positive result from that stratagem.

Finally, with 82% of its population of 300 million people professing Christianity, there is little concern that Islam will take over in the US. Rather, the danger to the “free world” is that Iran will develop a nuclear weapons capability and either use it, or provide it to those who will. In that case, the “free world” should steel itself to the worst possible scenarios.

These morons are probably following western media and the coverage the US gets abroad. So they think the world are on their side against America. Are they wrong? A crazy world getting crazier every day…

Good luck you dumb shit heads. Canada won't - and what inluence do you have over us, particularly after raping, torturing and murdering a Canadian citizen (Zahra Kazemi). You are so f---ing stupid you don't realize there isn't the infrastructure to ship Canadian oil to Asia. But then again, logic isn't their strength. BTW - I believe Canada is the largest foreign supplier of oil to the U.S. As for Mexico, a few weeks of really plugging the border and carefully inspecting NAFTA related shipments will have a marvellous effect of clearing Mexico's mind.

Typical Middle East bluster.

Countries rarely act against their self-interest. Trying to degrade the U.S. economy will hurt everyone. So that theory is just hogwash.

And Iran must realize that it would be easy for the U.S. to blockade their oil exports and even easier to destroy their oil exporting infrastructure.

Hahaha megalomaniac Iranians.

Hmm...What borders Iran? Well, uh, Afghanistan and Iraq. And now about 250.000 armed US troops. Then there is inside the Iranian students just waiting for the right moment to overthrow the Khomeni theocracy, along with the aid from some exile Iranians....

Let them talk, the truth is their regime is crumbling right under their prayer carpet, Iranians dislike the mullahs.

Moslems are so damn cocky, allah is on their side, muhammad predicted islam will rule the world, but they miscalculate, they don´t follow reason.

Iran will be bombed if they don´t drop their nuke plan, bombed by bombs and flyers telling the people to revolt, while they have airsupport.

It would be interesting if at least one of you guys would have noticed the following, from the source article:

"Imagine that a sealed, top-secret message were received in the White House from clandestine sources in the Middle East, to be read only by the president and vice president. The message would read as follows: "

That whole rant is made up; it's a thought experiment.
